Commissioner Ellis’s Office to Open Warming Center at Finnigan Park Community Center in Fifth Ward on Friday

Harris County, Texas (January 30, 2026)–The Office of Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis will open a warming center at 5 p.m. today at Finnigan Park Community Center,4900 Providence St., Houston, 77020.

The Finnigan Park site, along with other overnight warming centers and shelters, will open at 5 p.m. today and close at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 1. These shelters will not turn anyone away, and all locations accept pets. The City of Houston will also have warming centers with blankets, snacks, and meals.

Residents can call 311 for transportation to a shelter or warming center from 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30 until 5 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 1.
